Then and Now

It's been five months now since I closed the store and I am so glad I made that decision. It was a very busy September setting up the new website, cataloguing all the products and scheduling pop-ups for the holiday season. October to December was filled with community events like the Christkindl Market and Cambridge Christmas Market, partnering with other businesses like Truth Beauty Company, Kultrun Market and Legacy Greens, open houses and house parties. My favourite part so far has been the house parties. They've been so fun and encouraging. Sports Balls   James Milligan is the founder of Social Conscience- Fair Trade Sports Balls. The Fair Trade Show- Toronto

  This was the third year for The Fair Trade Show in Toronto and my second year in attendance. As Emily and I first entered, I realized I forgot our tickets but because the staff were so nice they just let us in. A good reflection of the fair trade world. The products there ranged from baskets to clothing, soaps and sports wear. Textiles from Mexico, Guatemala, Turkey, Nepal and India caught our attention many times. We listened to stories about the work being done in these countries, discovered new products and struggled to not buy everything. There was a lot that stood out to us.
